Spicy Beer-Infused BBQ Sauce

The ultimate mans BBQ sauce! This is my husband’s favorite BBQ sauce and has become a favorite for anyone I have ever made this for. A delicious healthier twist on traditional BBQ sauce! The carrots add a hint of sweetness and you won’t even know they’re there! Great starting point for quick and easy meals (see notes) or seal it in a mason jar for an impressive homemade gift.

Step: 1

Stir beer and jalapenos together in a glass of ceramic bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.

Step: 2

Stir beer mixture, ketchup, vinegar, honey, onion, carrots, lemon juice, black pepper, and mustard together in a saucepan; bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until flavors combine, about 1 1/2 hours.

Step: 3

Blend ketchup mixture with an immersion blender until smooth. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
