I had a few fresh green beans that I needed to cook. I did not have enough for a meal, so I came up with this for a side dish. We loved it!
Step: 1
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir the green beans in the butter for 5 minutes. Stir in the mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper; continue to cook until the beans are tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in the almonds just before serving.

One of most obvious way to pick a side dish is to look at your main dish (pasta, chicken, seared tofu) and choose something different. If you’re cooking pasta, make sure for a simple vegetable . Made steak? Go for more light. If you’re want to cooking stir-fry with rice, it must not a best idea to also make a rice salad.
This also can apply to cooking method . You don’t want to overcommit your oven by scheduling three dishes at once in there, or be juggling four pans on the cooking items . But often you can make a dish do double-duty .
