I created this for my cousin who cannot eat (drum roll) dairy, soy, eggs, peanuts, or yeast. She wanted a creamy salad dressing, and after looking at others for inspiration, this is what we came up with. It is really nice, reminiscent of hummus, and pretty darn healthy! Please send notes and improvements!
Step: 1
Combine cashews, water, onion, olive oil, lime juice, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper in a food processor or blender. Blend until completely smooth, 3 to 5 minutes. Add a little more water for a runnier dressing.

The most clear way to choose a side dish is to look at your main dish (pasta, chicken, seared tofu) and pick something different. When you’re making pasta, go for a simple healthy dish . Made steak? Go for something light. If you’re want to cooking stir-fry with rice, it must not a best idea to also make a rice salad.
This also can apply to cooking process . You don’t want to overcommit your oven by scheduling three dishes at once in there, or be rounding four pans on the stovetop . But often you can make a dish do double-duty .
